In the last weeks, social distancing and lockdown measures have further stressed the importance of digital platforms both for individual users and for companies. Among all social networks, Mark Zuckerberg's platform has showed once again he is able to anticipate the needs of its users.
So much so that Facebook has introduced a new e-mail marketing feature in the already tried-and-tested Facebook Pages app. With its new tool, Facebook wants to support companies that are trying to give new boost to their activities after a standstill.
Some days ago, it introduced the opportunity to send customised marketing e-mails directly from one’s Facebook page.
How does this work? Firstly, you need to confirm your e-mail address, through the simplified procedure in the left menu of the Facebook Pages homepage.
Once the e-mail is confirmed, you will need to manually add your e-mail contacts to the database and you will be invited to confirm that the contacts you added to the database have given their permission to receive promotional messages via e-mail.
After accepting the terms of use, you will then be able to create e-mail campaigns right through the Facebook Pages app.
Basically, this new feature tries to replicate CRM systems (customer relationship management tools), used by companies to manage client retainment processes and keep a direct and constant contact with clients.
All the e-mails will be delivered via your e-mail address business.mailbyfb.com, associated with your account.
The main advantage of this new feature is that you can compose e-mails directly through the Facebook system. You will therefore have the opportunity to easily add another tool able to keep an eye on the different digital marketing activities of your company, all within a single management app.
Other than this aspect, which is surely an advantage, the new feature introduced by Facebook is not very different from other CRM software, sharing their main features: you can upload contact information, compose e-mails, and send them out all at once.
But thanks to its high usability index, this tool will be particularly useful for companies that are not very familiar with e-mail marketing, providing an additional opportunity to connect with their audiences through a simple and intuitive tool.
All you need to do is try it. Digital tools can be a great ally to get our businesses back on feet.
